i love life.

what a good weekend.

i left my house in glendale and it took me 1.5 hours to get from the I-17 to the 202 east in rush hour traffic. it was beautiful. i sat there with my Dr. Pepper bathing in the classical station. i was amazingly calm. i loved every minute of it.

i turned my phone off all weekend accept to call my mom at the usual checkpoints on my way to my home in thatcher. its amazing how free/calm/relaxed i felt all weekend. not having to worry about anything at all. everyone should try this at least once in their life.

my grandma and uncle came down and we all made tamales for christmas. i love that tradition. grams is getting old and cant really remember all of her recipes but its okay we help. her and i sat on the couch and i listened to her stories from when she was a kid.

man i think i was born in the wrong time period. they used to go to dance halls and dance the jitter bug (grams was a pro her and her brother used to win competitions), have watermelon busts, go for walks and all kinds of great stuff. she even used to make dresses for all the girls for the dances. my grandma is an amazing woman. i especially love the story of how her and my grandpa met. i'll have to video tape it sometime so i'll never forget it. its one of those stories that could only happen in the movies but some how happened in real life.

she also reminded me of how much of my grandpa i have in me. he used to take is cameras around everywhere with him. he would ask people if he could take pictures of them. he wanted to be a photographer and took a bazillion pictures of everything. i wish he would have saved them. my uncle said he burned all of them when he got home from the war because they reminded him of so many memories. its understandable. i'm so glad i got the photography gene from him. every time i take a picture i'll remember him.

on sunday blaine and i went through my music library. wow is it getting huge. it took us a few hours to go through the whole thing and put music on his iPod. i also found some really good new music |andrew bird| ratatat| bon ivers| really good chill out music. i also got all of my artwork up on my wall. awesome. now all i have to do to my room is put all of my maps up, get the other book shelf in and fill it with books and i'll be almost done. mom made ham sandwiches and chicken soup. great arizona winter meal. she even made chocolate chip
oatmeal cookies. delish. and we watched The Polar Express an awesome Christmastime movie.

tomorrow i leave to go back to glendale. ive got one more final on wednesday and i'm done for the semester. i get to pack up my belongings for the remainder or december and half of january and move back here. i'll miss my roommates and living on my own. but i do get to spend more time with my familia. that is always good

cheers world. have a wonderful day.
