i just feel that this needs to be said:
today in my government class a few students and my self began to complain about how the news isn't news anymore
and how we would like to know what is happening in other countries and just world news in general. the problem we have with our news simply concentrating on america is what the news stations choose to concntrate on. the rich and famous. we never really hear what exactly is going on in afganistan or iraq, or darfur and uganda.
when we turn on our tv's to see the news we get the great pleasure of hearing about brittney spears bald head or some dim whit
like paris hilton's dui's. to me that is not nearly as important as saving childrens lives or knowing what it is exaclty that our
mothers, fathers, brothers, sisters, aunts, uncles, friends etc. are doing to protect our freedom and way of life.
one student [whom i might just say enjoy's picking arguments with the rest of us] decided to open his ignorant mouth and say, "if its not in america why should i care what do other contries have to do with me" all i could do was to look at him and say "so you dont care whats going on in the world" and he said "yeh, what does it have to do with me" two of my friends tried to hide their laughter behind their text books while i just looked at him and thought of what was going through my two friends minds.
how stupid can one person be to say "what does the world have to do with me" wake up!! you live in the world it has everything to do with you! everything that happens in this world whether it happens in america or africa will have some sort of effect on you!
so all i want to get at is people please pay attention to the world around you and get your heads out of this society that the media has created for you.
think for yourself and dont let anyone or anything think for you.
